Gokyo Valley Trek Overview

Gokyo lake is one of the most beautiful lakes in Khumbu region of Nepal. It is located in Gokyo valley of Everest region, where there are 5 other lakes also residing. Gokyo lake, also known as the"third lake", is extremely popular due to its natural beauty and amazingly blue water. Gokyo valley trek offers spectacular views of snow covered mountains, rocky mountains, forests of rhododendron flowers and pine trees, as well as glaciers and culturally rich villages. Hiking up to Gokyo Ri offers the best views of Mount Everest and other mountains of the region, as well as glaciers and beautiful lakes.

Trek to Gokyo valley offers a once in a lifetime opportunity to experience the culture and stunning beauty of the Himalayas, beginning with a scenic flight to Lukla from Kathmandu and a walk through a bustling village of Namche, known as the gateway to Mount Everest. After Namche bazzar, the trail leads leftwards to the valley towards Gokyo valley vai Mongla la danda, which offers spectacular views of mountains along the way. The trail continues lead to Dole through the forest of pine trees and rhododendron flowers.

Special Notice: Due to unpredictable weather conditions in the Himalayas there may be unforeseen schedule changes with domestic flights to Lukla and from Lukla. The flights may be delayed for several hours or pushed back by a day or more, depending on the circumstances. Although this is rare, it can happen even during the best trekking seasons. As you know, high altitude weather conditions can be difficult to predict. We strongly suggest that you plan for this by allowing for an extra day or two in Nepal after your trek, if possible. This will help ensure that you have some flexibility with regard to your trek. If everything goes according to plan, you will have time to enjoy other activities such as rafting, wildlife viewing, shopping, or just relaxing after your adventure.
